The Instructors:

Andrea Holsinger:
Andrea has over 50 breed, obedience, hunting retriever and tracking titles on personal dogs. She has had 8 top ten breed dogs, three top ten obedience dogs, three UD dogs, one UDX dog and FRCSA National Specialty High Combined winner, the 2003 and 2005 FCRSA National Specialty BOB winners, an FCRSA National Specialty BOS, WD and RWD in 2008 2009 and in 2010, three Gaines Regional Obedience qualifiers, three FRCSA Hall of Fame dogs and a two time Westminster BOB winner who was also the first dog in history to win BOB at Westminster Kennel Club that also had a hunting retriever title. Andrea has trained assistance dogs for the handicapped. Andrea was the training director for Classic City Kennel Club's obedience program until 1986, when she founded K-9 Insight. Her personal breeds have included Dobermans, Greyhounds, Whippets, Afghans, Flat-Coated Retrievers and many, many mixed breeds. She has been teaching dog training classes for 31 years. She is member of IACP and, FCRSA. Presently, Flyer (GCh Bertschire Fly by Night, JH) just completed his Grand Championship and has qualified for invitations to Westminster and the Eukanuba dog shows for 2011. Andrea is co-owner of Pacesetter Training Kennel and has retired from a Nursing Supervisor position at University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine.
Johni Mathis:
Johni, with her first competitive obedience dog, emblazoned a path through the competitive obedience trial circuit, winning EVERY class she entered and qualifying for the Gaines regional from Novice A. She achieved her Open title in the same fine style, winning two out of four large, Open A classes and placing second in another. Johni’s beloved Brittany Spaniel, Frankie, passed away. Johni now has a new Brittany Spaniel, Sadie, a two year old rescue dog, who was trained by Pacesetter Training Kennel in the Total Recall program. Johni is a career school teacher and brings her fantastic teaching abilities to our classes. Johni has been teaching dog training classes for over 25 years.

Our Assistant: Diane Burkhard
Diane has been assisting with our training classes for six years. She manages and trains a large group of rescue dogs and is a professional horse trainer. Her experience with difficult breeds is exceptional. Her commitment to helping dogs in need and to solving behavior problems is fantastic. Diane has a keen eye for dog behavior and is an invaluable resource for our classes.
